Interesting article.

Nowhere does it say that faith will alleviate your sufering. Just the opposite is true. If you accept Faith, true vs. token, that is, it will guarantee you long periods of trouble and suffering, lots of doors closing, lots of new ones opening.
I know this from experience.

Beautiful Trust
April 21, 2001

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." - Ecclesiastes 3:11

In all of our lives there are times when we must take risks and make leaps of faith. Whether it's trusting a job service to find you a suitable job now that you have just handed over to them all the money in your wallet, or the trust one places in a friend who promises us true friendship, we all take physical and emotional chances.

Spiritually, we take the biggest risks of all, because the choices we make today can affect the outcome of tomorrow.

I am always awed at how people can put so much faith in good luck charms, daily horoscopes, and other questionable mediums which tout spiritual nirvana, yet when it comes to placing faith in the hands of the One who created us, many individuals regard it as too risky a proposal. The same can also be said of those people who already believe in God, yet they are unwilling to let their faith take root and grow.

When God tells a person to walk forward, we should not ask, "What next? What will this step lead to? What will happen if I obey?" God may give us a glimpse into a different future, but we cannot fully fathom how the road we are following will ever get us there.

Things happen in our lives, and we cannot see how such events fit into the picture at all. In God's timing, it will all become clear, but for now, we are only called to obey, trust, and have faith.

One day, we will be able to look back and see that God did indeed make everything beautiful in its time, and we will be overjoyed at that which stemmed from trust.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. - Phil. 4:6

I remember seeing posted somewhere, If you place a frog in a pan of boiling water, he will jump out. If you place him in a pan of cold water, and warm it to boiling, the frog will boil and die.

Does anybody think it is getting warmer in here?
