I need to upgrade the rear shocks on my 68 f100 SWB. I'm a big fan of Bilstein and was disappointed (but not surprised) that they don't show anything to fit this generation. Does anyone know of any part numbers that they have used successfully?
I could never find their specs when I was looking.
I don't know if they are different or not, but this part number came up for my 1970 F100 B46-1326 from the shock warehouse.
Something else, I like Bilstein as well, but if they are like other high pressure gas monotube shocks, I find them to be a bit harsh in bumpy situations. I am going to change back to a low pressure gas twin tube design, I just cruise and like cushy.
I'm running Bilsteins in front and Monroe Gas Magnums in back. The ride quality is 4.0.... a front 75-79 Dentside swaybar also allows a more spirited driving experience.
DLW-700, It looks like that part number might work. When I compare the Monroe part numbers for 68 vs 70, they are the same, so I'm thinking the 70 Bilsteins should work on a 68 as well.
