possible turbo
Hey guys I got a 85 f250 6.9 idi. The motor is a reman motor with 3000 miles on it I've turned the fuel up a little bit on it and that's about it. I want to pull in truck pulls and I also pull my horse trailers with it but I'm not sure what's the best way to go turbo wise. Which system would be the best for hp and torque.

Turbos are a good idea, but being a 6.9 you /really/ need headstuds. If you can find one cheap, I think a wastegated Banks system is pretty good; I've managed to get 20 PSI of boost out of it with plenty of fuel and the wastegate disconnected. 10 is what it's set for.
If you have to buy a new one, talk to Justin at R&D(idiperformance.com) and have him build you one.
I think his designs for piping and such are much better, but if a cheaper option is available in a used kit...
