Have any of you guys here ever used 1 of these? Are they any good? As I don't have a tach. in my old truck would just like some opinions, thoughts on these. But i really don't want to install a tachometer in the truck, necessarily just asking. But would like to see what kind of rpms the truck is running! Thanks for the replies thanks!! Robert
Oops i guess some did at least some of the years at least with my body style did.Mine is a 88 so if i go get a instrument cluster with a tachometer it will plug right in no problem? Without changing or adding anything? Thanks guys!! Also i guess i need the circuit board too it also looks like the other ones from 87-91 had the fuel and temp and voltage gauges are on the opposite side
Take the speedometer out of your current cluster, and swap it into the cluster that has the tach. You'll keep your mileage this way. Take the lens off, and the speedo should just pull out.
Yeah ive had it out b4 had to lube the speedometer cable it was chirping and driving me insane! Lol so i guess that means I can swap the clusters without changing any of the electrical components? Thanks again guys!!

On the 87 to 91 clusters, the non-tach speedo will not fit into the tach clusters. It's little bigger than the tach speedo.
Other than that, its plug and play for 87 to 91 clusters.
As for swapping speedometers between the clusters to keep your mileage, that is were the speedometer size comes to issue. The non tach speedo is little bit bigger than the other and will not fit in the tach cluster housing.

ok now i get it duh! Lol i dont even know what the true mileage is because the trucks had the motor rebuilt about 2 years b4 i bought it thanks for the replies guys!!!!
When you pull a cluster from the junkyard, be careful as the plastic circuit film might fall apart when you unplug the connectors. I had this happen and had to find another cluster. Theses year trucks are becoming hard to find in the yards.

there is a guy on ebay who has 1 from a 91 bronco for 80 bucks would that 1 work, You think? I can probably post a pic of it. Thanks again
I feel dumb for asking this cause i just opened mine not to long ago but cant you just pull the gauge cluster out as a whole? Once you get enough slack in the speedometer cable to unplug the cluster or no? Thanks again!
