I'm with Pele, would like to see some 17" steel wheels in black...
1.) They're cheap to buy new.
2.) The tires are cheap.
3.) Treadwright actually makes road tires in this size. (18 and 20 inch tires are mud terrain only.)
4.) They're common at the scrapyard and in Craigslist, making them cheap second hand.
5.) It's the smallest wheel that'll fit on a 2005+ axle and brake upgrade.
6.) Did I mention how budget friendly they are?
Not factory. Its from a new super duty with the 4x4 package. It's 2x as long as my original. I think it was like $80 something from the local dealer. It doesn't bolt in directly, not even close. I had to make a few brackets to make it fit but I really like the look with the added lift I put on. I wish it was 4" taller.
The difference in tires alone can be $200-$500 between 17 and 20 inch tires.
20 inch wheels are going for like a grand on CraigsList.
Oh I know. I put off buying tires for way too long because I didn't want to commit to a rim size.
I've seen the 20's in the $400-500 range, but they get snatched up quick. I picked up my 18's for $350 with the stock tires on them that I got a few thousand miles out of.
I haven't seen anybody with them yet, but there are some oem 17" aluminum options too.
These look decent... I was a little hesitant on account of them being seven spoke. I like my wheels to have an even number of spokes unless they're 5 lug wheels, then they can have 5 spokes. Of course mesh wheels like those made by BBS are an exception.
YEAH!
The rear center caps didn't fit over the hub and the front center caps look like crap
Those are 14 spoke wheels Pele, so you are good with an even number!
Are you using 2" hub centric spacers behind them? I would think with the spacers that the rear caps should fit OK.
They do look great on your EX!
See, why do women wear a PAIR of underwear, but only ONE bra?
Some things come as pairs, like those spokes. Seven paired spokes.
Would it have killed Ford to put another pair in and even it up with the lugs?
Anyhow, yeah. Forgot about the 2 inch spacers. I'm not running those, as they're sitting in a drawer at work. I've gotta figure out what studs they used and order new ones or sandblast the old ones.
It doesn't look terrible without and there's no rubbing as far as I can tell.

The old center caps don't look too bad on there:
I like the looks of those! What is the brand and model? What size are they?

Scratch that... I went around the block last night and there was no rubbing.
Had to make a U-Turn in the cul-de-sac this morning. There's rubbing at full lock. The tires hit the leaf springs.

They are 20 x 8. They're OE Ford units off of a newer SuperDuty.
They were stamped "King Ranch Black" but came off of a Platinum. They sell a couple different versions of my wheel... The Black version that I have, a tan version, and an unpainted silver version.

Cool, thanks!
I'm considering a set of 20" rims. Might go just a bit small than my 35's on 22" rims. Seems to be more selection of tires for 20's
Would love to go with 20" rims, but looking at the off road tires in 20" and seeing the $500 + price tag per tire, I keep running the other way and convincing myself the stock 16" rims work.
