PROBLEMS!!!

Recently my CEL came on and while I was driving the CEL went off and the truck has no thottle (manual trans) but still running. After like 2 to 3 seconds of this, the light comes back on and it's back to normal operations. Also, after the truck has been running on the road for awhile, when I kill it I have to wait till it cools off to restart. However, I replaced the Crank shaft sensor (with a o rielieys brand...) and it started back up after being warm so......yea. I have not got codes from it because no one carries the one that will read it. So any help would be appreciated. .....the truck is a 1994.5 powerstroke.

Looks like an ipr problem with the hot start. The no acceleration one can be the IVS or the APS on the pededal.

Another thing it's been doing is it'll go from smooth idle to a rougher almost dying idle then back again....

Might be a loose under valve cover connection, check for burnr pins.

Agreed on both counts. IPR o rings are the common culprit for hot start issues. How many miles on the rig? Any other history?

Could easily be the IPR. But the aftermarket CPS could be crappy out of the box, too. You can get an OEM CPS from Riffraff for $25.

I got 256k on it, the problem didnt start till I had to drive through a bunch of luquidified caliche. As far as history on the the truck I've had minor issues but nothing I couldn't figure out. Another thing that happened before all this was my glow plug relay burnt up...

The GPR should only affect cold starting. Once warmed up, should not make a difference. 256,000 miles on it, have the o-rings been changed on the injectors? Are the original injectors still in your truck? Have you pulled the fuel filter and checked it? If so, what color was it? If it's black, oil may be getting past the o-rings and getting into the fuel.

Well where is was going with the GPR was it might have shorted something out. As far as injectors I dont know when the last time they were changed I've had the truck nearly 10 yrs. The fuel filter is always super clean even after 10 or 15k miles, I usally just change it to humor myself.

By 250,000 miles, my 97 would have a black fuel filter within 10,000 miles. Truck was slow to start when warm. New injectors and o-rings fixed that problem. IPR was changed before that.

I've shorted the GPR out on all the 7.3's I've owned at least once. Never messed anything else up.

What oil are you using? And how long has it been since an oil change?

Nah man the problem was my injector fuel pressure sensor. Truck drives like new ^,^ now that I changed it.

These don't have a fuel injector pressure sensor. Are you talking about the icp?
