Problems starting

So I put my truck back together after a new hoop gasket and turbo pedestal o rings. I've been driving it for about a week or two now and it still runs strong, but the CEL is on with the engine on, and sometimes, when I try to start the truck, it will start, and idle for a second, then lose rpms and die. Sometimes, but not always, when it does that, I can give it some throttle and it will stay at idle rpms for about 10 seconds, then the CEL will come on and it will rev up finnaly. I have that torque pro app, and I've taken it to a parts store and used their code reader, but both say there's no codes stored. It still pulls strong and i havent noticed any rough idle or acceleration, but it romps on almost every start, and has since i bought it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

On my 1995 I have to use Car Gauge Pro to pull codes.

What year is your truck?

I had a friend with a similar problem. His truck would sit there and idle perfect for about 3 or 4 minutes and then just die. The check engine light would come on. His had a code for the ICP sensor. He bought an OEM ICP sensor and his problem went away.

You could unplug the ICP and see if it has oil on the plug. Try running it with it unhooked.

Best idea though is to find a way to get the codes read before buying parts for it.

Thanks for the reply. Mine is a 97. It only dies if I shut it down and start it up right away. If it sits for an hour or so it starts fine. Also I have to crank it longer sometimes. I'll unplug it and clean it after work today.

An update on my truck. I got that other scanner app and it worked. The cps was coding and the icp. I went down and got a cps from ford and slapped that bad boy on.
The other codes I got were:
P0078. Exhaust valve?
P0236. Turbo boost sensor? Map?

I scanned it with the engine running and got
P0001
P002b
P008d
P0220
