I posted this in the tuner forum and I've got no help so far, I have to put the computer back in today, I'm trying to figure out if it's the correct chip or not. Unfortunately at this point In probably just going to put in back together without the chip unless someone is confident is the correct chip.
The chip is for a 02-03 excursion, I just have reservations that the codes are different for the computers.
Yes. The chip will work. The chip is for a California 02-03 F-series which doesn't have PATS. Therefore, your Excursion's Passive Anti-Theft System will no longer work but the glow plug parts and pieces will all function properly.
You will notice that your "THEFT" light will flash after installation of the chip. Not a big deal. The PATS module is located above the accelerator pedal position sensor and has a 4-wire green connector. Simply unplug that and drive.
There are a few ways around it to make everything function like stock but they're only a viable option if you're willing to live without the PCM for a week (if you plan on staying with a TS Performance chip platform).

Interesting... , I would like the PATS to still work, but that's not a HUGE concern.
Do I have to unplug the pats to make it work, or does that just get rid of the light? or will I have the light no matter what, unless I send the pcm out?
Looks like I have a bit more research before I'm ready to commit to the chip, at least for today, I'm going to put it back in stock, so I can drive the kids to school in the morning and hopefully figure it out tonight or tomorrow.
Unplugging the module just gets rid of the light. The PATS will no longer be functional. Everything else will work fine.
To make the PATS work, the PCM will have to be sent to someone who can read it and put the section of the operational code of the PCM that the PATS module "looks for" in the binary code of the chip.
The DP-Tuner offerings as well as the Hydra allow PATS to work out of the box.
