Hey all! I just got the tether/anchor kit for a car sear from the ford dealer#613d74. I'm reading the instructions and I have a 99 F350 Super Cab. In the instructions it states that there is a full width rear seat and without full width rear seat. Does anyone on here know the difference? I was thinking it was wider coming from the back to the front and not side to side. Is this correct? I plan on installing it today so any help asap would be awesome! Also if you have installed one about how long did it take you? I'm a mechanic myself so I know my way pretty well around a tool box lol. Thanks for the help in advance
I didn't end up doing it since I didn't want to break plastic clips pulling the carpet and the dealer offered to do it for free. I assume it screws into a spot on the frame that's already tapped - no need for a bolt in the back.
There are two active threads on this in the 99-16 SD Forum right now. The supplying and installation of the part(s) (all free I might add) are required under federal law. My recommendation is that you take it to the dealership & let them do it. The dealership will treat it similar to warranty work where they order the part(s), do the installation, & then bill Ford.
On my 2004 ext cab there are three black nylon loops at the seat back even with the bottom of the glass. Is that what your calling "tether " for car seats
