I agree with Killer based on the description of your symptoms. If everything works as expected when you jump it, most likely a bad/dead battery or the terminal of either your + or - cable are corroded and they are not making a good connection on the battery posts...

Go back to basics.
Go over every connection of parts you replaced & check for correct wiring & make sure everything is tightened to spec.

Plus double check all connections for cleanliness & are connected proper.

Should have 3 grounds going from battery to:
Engine block (somewhere under/near alt. usually bolted to cyl.-head or block itself)
Down to frame/chassis (should have a "star" washer under it. -barbed washer-)
Radiator support.

You should also have a ground from back of engine to fire wall.
These grounds are important & without them, it can lead to issues.

Turns out the new alternator was bad. Being out of the game a while I realize to not realize that just because a part is new doesn't mean it ain't the problem. Thanks for the tips & keep on truckin'!

ShedSquatch,
Good to hear it's running.
How come you didn't check voltage @ alternator's batt.+ post when it was running, after fresh install?
