Vacuum pump question

First does it suppose to make a SSS noise when truck is running? Or is it bad? Second what is it suppose? Just to make vacuum for the truck? Thanks

To make your brake booster work, and your climate controls work. I wouldnt know aboust the SSS sound.

If it was bad your brake pedal would be super stiff.
