I'll be removing the bed on my '76 F-150 2wd and replacing with one from a parts truck I picked up. From underneath the bed, it looks like there are four bolts holding the bed to the frame. Read a previous post on tricks to get the bolts off if stuck but I'm wondering if someone would care to walk me through the process of removing the bed from start to finish. Thanks for any help rendered and I hope this post helps others as well!
Easy as pie as they say
Remove bumper, although you can leave it on in my opinion it is easier with it off.
Remove the 6, or is it 8, bolts....I like to use a blue tipped wrench...aka torch. Bolts are cheap
Disconnect gas filler hoses, if so equipped.
Disconnect the rear light harness, should be a connector behind the bumper on the driver's side.
Get a couple of buddies and lift it off.
I think that is everything......
