Air test it. Command the IPR closed, remove oil filter and cap, if you hear it gurgling.... you need a new pump. Remember, it's failing but not completely failed yet... why it won't hot restart. Do the air test.
I'm waiting for it to cool down so I can pull it back in the garage, I'm going to pull the IPR and see if I can get a fitting to do the air test.....more to follow, thanks guys
I doubt you will find anything to fit in the IPR hole, it's a pretty odd size, unless there is a way to use a cork or something and then a rubber tipped blow gun, just thinking out loud here from memory.
The IPR set up that is advertised looks like a sweet set up but it's not cheap unless you wrench for a living.

This is a true statement! I wet to 3 places and it appears to be a 22mm x 1.5 thread. I didn't really even come close, not to mention its so tight in there. Is the ICP thread any more common?? And if I get air in through there how do I command the IPR closed?
Here is what you need. Pretty sure it's the smaller of the two, and IIRC correctly the other one will fit in the upper fuel filter bowl test port should you ever feel the need to monitor fuel pressure. I won't tell you the ICP thread is more common however, sorry to say, I would have sourced locally had I been able to do so.
As far as commanding the IPR? I rednecked it. Simply took two wires with and put ends on them, then used the battery to command it when I had air hooked up.
It takes some pretty small wire ends to get on those two male terminals on the IPR. Not the best way to do it but hey, it worked for me and I was in a pinch and new to the 6.0 at the time.
Be sure to get the polarity correct, IIRC it might make a difference but don't quote me on that. I was a bit **** about the whole thing at the time.
This should do the trick! Old icp, cut the head off and drilled it out, air check going down tomorrow! Still not sure how to command the ipr shut though
Read the last half of my post, it's the poor mans version if you don't have software to do so.....just be sure you don't have the IPR commanded for more than 20 seconds at a time, give it some time in between command tests if you need to do more than one. Commanded full stop for too long can burn them up
Pratt and Whitney eh? Are you on the engine side of things?

Oh sorry, I didn't see the second part of your post, I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Nope, wife works for Pratt in international compliance, she's in Miami right now for a some kind of bull**** conference, I'm retired military and employed full time working on my 6.0!!
Could I have missed this? Before doing an air check, I wanted to see the IPR on the bench w 12 volts applied, I get nothing! No click and no movement, just silence.....if this thing is not operating correctly could this be my problem? It appears right now to be in the closed position meaning I cant get air through the end of the valve.....????
