Well,I guess I can start Fuel:we are custom making a regulated return system.I got a few bugs to work out still, next is valve train goodies by a local shop that my friend Kenny does a lot of work for from cam to rockers, this is hopefully going to stop all the bad lifter and geometry problems in the 6.0 engine. We will one up Colt cams as this has been in the works for a long time(I'm going to be the Ginnie Pig I guess).Heads are getting the the full Sin Tru treatment ,guides ,seats, valves and mild clean up in the ports.Head gaskets:I thought long and hard about this, I've decided to go with Fel Pro.The reason being I want to get another route for us to use and it has to be proven, clamping will be ARP due to cost,A11 studs are just too much money and if everything is square you won't need them, as all this is for fuel economy(If you really believe me) I'm also building this for longevity(I'm going to the Grand Canyon this summer if it kills me) so I don't want breakdowns of any kind.Injectors are getting flowed by a local shop as I don't have the equipment to ck them and no mods are being done. FICM: naturally that's being sent to Ed and getting the atlas 40 and the once over. I'm trying to do this all on a budget too, believe it or not so other guys can get their trucks right the first time and not have to worry, plus retirement is right around the corner and Jersey is not a cheap place to live so a shop of my own might be in the works. I'll keep up the plans as I find out but it might not be for another month if I keep getting news like yesterday.....more tests,so we shall see..............
That would be nice to see a real 25mpg. The best I ever got was 22.3 with a hot tune and I stayed right at 72mph. Sadly I don't even try for fuel mileage, I care about it, but most of my travel/use with the truck is with a 13k 5th wheel strapped to it.
The best I can do is 14..maybe 15 if I stay at 63 mph.
From what I see is the lobe ramp is close and binding the lifter LSA sep is the key. Duration is going to be a big part in economy with the right overlap.i think the lift is going to be the same as Colts stage ll but I'm not sure.........I think the computer mod will be done today and ground Monday
yes...that would be great...I would do my lifters, rockers, push rods, check the cam, maybe replace the hPFP, etc at my engine party.
Woohhh...had to do a double take on what kind of party... Lifters, rockers, push rods and cam checking. My attempt at humor aside Per4mance, I'm glad your on the mend and can get back to Power Stroke'n.
Soon as I get a clearance from the Doc,I had a stent put in and they think it collapsed or something. All I know is I can't lift the weight of a milk jug and my wife is watching me like the Gestapo.
