I received a letter from Ford issuing me a new warranty on the electric vacuum pump located on the drivers inner fender behind the headlight.
The letter extends the warranty on this part and labor only for up to 10 years or 150K miles from the vehicles in service warranty date.
The program allows for one (1) free replacement at no cost to me. Additionally, for anyone who has replaced theirs on their own dime, they may be eligible for a refund / reimbursement.
IIRC, the 2012 trucks have the same design. Does anyone else have possession of the same letter from Ford?
It only took em five years to figure this out. Mine hasn't acted up but I'm only at 56 months and 59K on the clock.
I got mine today as well....strangely enough I started getting the grinding/vibration that it describes about 2 weeks ago. Guess it's time to schedule some service.
Replacing it yourself isn't that tough, I did it on my last truck, and even with taking two breaks to re-watch the YouTube video, it was under a half hours work.
Spoke to dealership service manager today. Check for full amount I paid is in the mail. After all the bull**** with my extended warranty not covering and being jerked around by the sales department since I was sold a bill of goods on the noise when I bought it. This brings me some closure to the debacle.
