I need help trying to figure out why my 6.9 is stalling out. The truck will start fine then after 30-45 seconds of running, it will just die. It will take a good minute of cranking (not continuous) to finally get it running again. Once it is running the second time, there are no issues, it runs great. It is just on initial start, and whenever the truck sits for longer than 30 min after it has been run.
It have found no fuel leaks anywhere other than on one injector. Recently changed my FF, always add anti-gel at every fuel stop as I am in the north. THis has been occurring for the past month. Any suggestions??

IN addition, I keep my tank at least half full all the time, just dropped and cleaned the front fuel tank and replaced the sending unit in October. I do not use the rear as it leaks. This is a recent problem that I can not figure out. Fuel Pump????

Reason: misspelled word
Doesnt even have to leak fuel, to leak air in, which is usually the problem. That said, usually this manifests into a start then dies 4-5 seconds later, not 45-50. I would pull the fuel filter and see if its full, that will indicate if its a fuel problem. Seems to me if it was the fuel pump, it wouldnt restart once out of fuel.
On initial start, I can rev the motor up and even start to drive before it quits. Then it will take some time to get started and it is fine once it is running again. I will check the FF before starting next time,
Lift pump is pretty affordable, could just throw a new one on and see if it fixes the problem. The IP has an internal transfer pump that can pull fuel from the tank, but i dont really see it repriming the system on its own... but never tried.
ok, thanks I will try it. I bought this truck less than a year ago and it was not taken care of. I have to do a lot of work to get it back into shape and it seems when it is running good, something else comes up.
it sounds like you are having the classic "air intrusion" issue.
since you say it has a slight leak at one of the injectors, first thing i would do is put a return line kit on it. that may just fix your issue, but i think it is several things causing your issue.
if the stock water separator is still hooked up, you may have a small leak there also.
