Like I said, I am working on my own 400 motor upgrades.

There is some interesting findings on there like this.
I've been reading articles, Hot Rod had these two.
Ford 406 Engine Build - 380hp/468tq est: $2000
The Mutt - Over 500hp and 565 lb-ft from Ford's 400m $6772
The issues with compression and timing are so well documented that even wikipedia has this blurb.

Yeah I think I will just rebuild the 400 and put the money I save into some guns and parts for my bike
