I've had good luck with Interstates Costco brand not so much I think that's why Costco has been faxing the other Kirkland maker out, I picked both battery's up at our local farm Ag dealer interstate still has a good warrantee , make sure the cables and Alt is tip top
Dang, my original Motorcraft batteries lasted 8 years. Never once did I put a charger or maintainer on them. I figured since I had such good luck with them I would buy a second set. Almost 3 years and they are still treating me well..
That's because the OE assembly line batteries are different then the aftermarket Motorcraft or any other aftermarket.
I'm also starting to wonder if we may be hurting ourselves going to a higher CCA then stock as from what I've been reading we may be sacrificing higher volume capacity for less durability, 850 vs 650.
As long as your driving conditions have enough time to fully charge the batteries then the alternator size won't matter, they only accept so much current.
My Father N Law has my first 6.0 and he has had the same experience. He was able to get them both replaced under warranty tho. I was just outside of that.
I upgraded to the 140A alternator about 1.5 years ago. My drive one way to work is about 20 miles so I would think that would be sufficient time to charge the batteries?
That all being said I just accepted a new position at work that comes with a companies car (yeah it has a bow tie ). So my next purchase will be a battery minder to keep those new batteries healthy.

My interstate rep replaced my mtp65 batteries again and said that he is moving me over to the c65 batteries. Said that the ford diesels seem to go through batteries and moving to the commercial series, while a lower CCA, made them last longer. Didn't cost me anything...
Shane, I eneded up going with advance batteries a few months back and doing the same thing you did with the trt30. Saved a lot of money and if they don't last through warranty, at least there is a advance in practically every town to get them replaced. So far, so good. They're still really strong but it hasn't been very long. We'll see!

I was wondering about that when I changed mine last time. Mine came with the Motorcraft 650 cca and they lasted 7 years I think. And since I went with 850s I've gone through 3 different autozone sets. I'm now on the 4th set but they're from advance. I could've kept getting free ones from autozone but they crapped on me too often to keep going with them.
