Headlight and explorer mirror wiring help
I am about to redo my stock headlight wiring harness in my truck with bigger wire and relays. While I am doing this I plan to install a 1st gen ford explorer review mirror in my rig. The problem I am having is how to wire the mirror in. It automatically turns your headlights on and off. The mirror has 4 main wires:
White/Pink: To headlight and running lights.
Pink/Yellow: Hot in start/run only.
Orange/White: Constant 12V power.
Black: Ground.
So should I splice the white/pink wire into the wire that goes from the headlight switch to the dimmer switch and to the wire that goes from the headlight switch to the running light relay?
My second question is where do I splice into to get power only in start/run?
BTW the truck is a 1986 f250 6.9L

LMC makes a "bolt in kit" relay setup so there is no reason why you need heavier wiring. The stock truck wiring is only used as a switching wire for the relays.
