Bad luck comes in threes
First the springs, then the brakes, now the coolant header tank. When I bought the camper (2000 F350 dual with V8 7.3L diesel, the header tank was weeping through some cracks so I bought a new header tank from Amazon for delivery to Germany so I could take it to Peru. Yesterday when I stopped to camp at about 4000 metres it decided to pee about 3 litresof coolant onto the ground. So a 350km drive with cap off, back to Lima where I stand the best chance of getting something done. Continuing to drive in the mountains without a pressurised coolant system isn't really an option because once you get to 5000 metres the boiling point drops low enough for the coolant to boil off.Question is since ford here don't have the right part and I might need to get a metal one fabricated. Does anyone know what pressure radiator cap is equivalent to the stock plastic one, and given that stainless is inclined to crack, does anybody see any disadvantages of getting it fabricated in mild steel
