~Parental Advisory~

im a 17year old kid and i agree with y'all about society goin down the tube. i also think we live in a sad world too. although i dont believe kids do it to rebel against their parents. i think they do it just to do, and for the feeling of it. i might have some bad qualities but i still think people should find the right person before they go and do somethin, theres too many diseases out there along with unwanted kids. also, i dont think parents talking to their kids will change anything. maybe in some cases it will. but for the most the kids themselves will make their own decisions. my parents never gave me any talks but i make pretty good decisions for the most

Just so everyone knows, I have only slept with two people, a one-night stand the day before I came in the military, and my gal, whom I am all but 'officialy' engaged with(can't afford the ring) Do I regret that first girl I slept with? Yes, in a way...I wish I could say the smae thing my girl can say to me, that I am the only person she has slept with but, and I also have fooled around with a few, about 5 other girls......HOWEVER< the one thing I DO NOT regret is that I did not go have all the 'fun' my co-workers and roomates have/had. I believe my parents raised me right. Me waiting, for the most part, has also only made my relationship stronger, I wish kids these days knew/realize/ ir where taught this.

~Parental Advisory~

I'm wondering if people weren't afraid to discipline their children there might be alot less teen pregnancies, violence, and general disrespect for people.

My mom paddled my little butt when I needed it which created not only a fear of the consequences (spanked, slapped, grounded, stand in the corner, extra chores) of doing something wrong but the need to please (ie. not killing your brother or your teacher, or having sex with your BF/GF, or skipping out of school, or throwing things on the buss, or cussing as you walk through the mall...........) I know alot of kids that don't get disciplined and they just keep pushing the limit to try to find that one bad thing that will get their parents attention and shoe they care enough about it to do something.

My nephews are a prime exampleof this. They have never had a spanking from anyone but my husband and I (oh a VERY rare one from their grandpa) and they NEVER push it with us, just with their grandma and mom who wouldn't dare dream of telling them they've done something wrong, or to stop doing something, or to paddle their behinds.

Now, I can only hope that none of you will turn me in when we have kids, but I can honestly and openly say that I'm not afraid to discipline our kids, even if it comes to a spank on the butt or a slap in the face, because I would rather they learn to respect others (even at the cost of a little unhappiness) because in the long run, they might thank me for it, or at least I won't have to see not only my own child dead or hurt but others such as what happened at Colombine, or any of the other acts of violence that have occured recently, or watch a grandchild suffer from being born to a teenage mother who can't support them, or from having a mommy or daddy thats abusive to them.

Every time my husband takes me out to a "special dinner" (usually more expensive that just getting a quick bite!) we are forced to put up with screaming kids running around the restaurant throwing things and being extremely rude while their parents dine in peace on the other side of the place. Now if they would make their children mind or at least if the parents could show a little respect for others they'd leave them home with a babysitter.........the kids causing problems today are learning (maybe somewhat indirectly) from their parents that this behavior is okay.

Exactly, and my kids will be the first to get a whoopin, in private or in public it do not matter. They will learn form my hand, and my belt. For their sake, I hope I have to buy antoher belt before they are born...cause the ones I have now, will hurt like hell. And, so everyone knows, you CAN report me, cause I will do it right in front of the cops and humanitarian morons when they get there.

The fact of teen's having sex at an early age because they perceive it to be morally wrong or because they think it will "burn" there parents is entirely correct. For those who need further proof look at the European society and culture citing from experience, in Europe the way they look at sexuality is completely different than how we look at it, it is tied into there lives very much so it is on every television channel including the daily news. It is on the streets, it is in every store, it is everywhere. Now look at there teenage pregnancy rates you will see that it is dramatically lower than ours. They may have something figured out. It makes me wonder how there culture evolved so differently than ours.

But you have to pay for HBO. I'm saying that we may be a little overboard on censorship.

OVERBOARD ON CENSORSHIP?????????????????????? Who are you trying to kid. Every LOCAL station is airing sex (or some dumb get-rich-quick reality show) on just about every sitcom or every commercial. If its not sex or money, its a commercial for some kind of drug or another. (I watched tv for about 20 min the other day and saw at least 6 drug commercials in that time span. What, oh WHAT, is wrong with this picture????)
