so my parents have a 2007 f-150 and just recently the numbers on the lcd screen for the odometer and the trip. have started to disappear, but then if you disconnect the battery and reconnect it the numbers will come back for like two or three weeks and then just disappear again? does anyone know where the ground for the gauge cluster grounds to so I can see if it has a grounding issue? cause the back lighting of the lcd works and everything else in the cluster works fine.
We actually modify the entire connection to the circuit board so that you don't ever have to worry about this happening again. We also upgrade the components that commonly fail and cause other issues like the brake light staying on at all times. Here's a link to our service:

Dang! Wish I'd known about this 3 years ago before I shelled out $600 to the dealer to replace my cluster because the brake light was staying on. Circuit went bad on the back of the board and caused the brake light to stay on. I couldn't pass state inspection till that was done. If I'd known about this, they probably could have repaired my OE cluster for less money. Oh well...
