I was wondering if anyone knew if I could take the front axle from a 99 f250 7.3 and put it on a 99 f350 SRW 7.3? I know the springs are different was just curious about the front axle assembly itself? Thanks in advance!
The axle should swap no problem. I am fairly certain 99-01 f250's used the Dana 50, while the f350's used the Dana 60. In 02 it was switched so that both 250's and 350's used the Dana 60.
It was hit and miss D50 vs D60 99-2001. Either one will go in and if you're not doing boosted launches or running around with 38s you'll be fine.... Ask me how I know a D50 and 38s don't mix....
I remember hearing about your issues with keeping the front diff in the correct number of pieces.... . Do you know of an easy way to tell which is which or would a person need the axle tag to tell for sure?

That is the rear axle though, correct? I have never heard of a Ford 10.5 in the front end of anything, but that doesn't mean much. I am fairly certain the 10.5 only comes in the "rear axle" variety, but please inform me if I'm wrong. Love to learn.

Really? That must be one very unique F350 you have there. It must be really fun trying to turn, having a solid one piece rear axle in the front of your truck.

I'm not sure whats in the front. I looked for the tag when I was looking for my dually conversion parts. But its gone. I just assumed they would be the same. So I did get the rear tag. 10.5 and 3.73. My 04 dually parts I got are 4.10, but I never looked at the tag yet. Havn't cleaned them up yet. So not sure what it has.
