So I have yet to use any additives in my truck since I bought it. Its a 97 with 240K on it. I bought it mostly for towing my toys so it does sit for weeks at a time between being driven. I was just curious what fuel additives I should be using? Any particular brand?
Save your money and doing worry about it. I live in the frozen north called Fargo and I only add some power service if I have to drive long distances when it's 10 below.
I've maybe used 2 jugs in the 250k miles I've put on my trucks and I've never gelled a filter....

Never had a gelling issue here either in West Michigan. The winter blend fuel usually has anti gel additives in it. I do it more so for the lubricity and cleaning benefits. Same thing with the atf, diesels love the stuff. Especially the mechanical ones, I notice the difference in how much quieter and smoother they run after just a few miles of driving.
Yeah I live in AZ so not too worried about gelling, was more curious about the cleaning, lubrication, stabilization, etc.
Diesel isn't like gas, it won't really evaporate. algae us the only real threat to diesel that sits for a long time but even then it would have to sit for years...
Yeah, DO NOT use ATF....not good. Optilube is the best on the market, according to the lubricity tests done on it. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about anything else living in AZ
