Abe, here is my truck seat I finished a month or so ago. I did purchase the cover, but installed myself and did the same strip and repair all the springs, etc. I had never done this before, but pretty happy with it. I purchased the foam, burlap and duck cloth at a fabric store. My duck cloth bunched up a little resulting in the slight bumps seen in the photo, but I'll easily fix that before I install it in the cab.

My man said I can pick the truck up tomorrow (Wed). My seat is not done yet so I will sit on a stool and a pillow to get it home. It is about 4 miles, through back roads.
And... the wood is not in the bed yet. I called today to see if I could come out and put the boards in the bed, since I wasn't substitute teaching. He said the bed is already on. So I will try to put the boards in with the bed on. If it is too difficult i will get 3 friends and lift the bed off and do it that way. Anyway I will be more comfortable doing it at my pace at my place instead of taking up space at his shop and feeling rushed. He really moved on it this time. I gotta give him credit.
My truck is home now in my garage. I have a lot of work ahead of me before it is finished. I drove it home sitting in a lawn chair. My seat is not yet done.
Besides the seat, I need to replace both drivers and passengers windows. They have been cracked for years. Put my new 6 volt halogen headlights in. The front turn signals don't work so I got to mess with them. And I have to put the bed boards in. I am not sure if I will lift the bed off to do it or do it with the bed on.
Also, I need a new exhaust system and I need to put in a new clutch.
The paint job looks good. I am pleased. He put new cab mounts in. The cab sits about 3/4" higher, so that is good. But it still sits crooked. It could be the rear springs. Or it could date back to when my Grandpa had it. My uncle got hit on the left side. But I won't worry about it. It has been that way for years and years. Before I got the truck fixed in 1999 the cab would leak at the left corner of the windshield.
