2000 F350 DRW 4 x 4 4r100,7.3, 4.10's, stock tires, 8 foot flatbed, dp f6, work truck that more often than not has 3-5000 lbs on
The original auto hubs have lived a long and colorful life. Time however has taken its toll and its time to do something different. I want to go back to manual hubs.... Looked at the Warn page and all their kits specifically say not for DRW applications. I looked into this before and I think the hubs catalog sizes would fit through my spacing adapters....
Is there any other reason why the same hubs for any other F250/F350 would not fit a DRW application? Surely they would not change the splines....
And on to the final question, what have you used for hubs successfully? I know several make them but search is running me in circles tonight, all I can find is the warns that say they don't fit.
DRW trucks have a spacer on the front axle hubs, so no, regular SRW truck locking hubs won't work on the front axle assembly on a DRW truck.
Your best bet will be OEM parts. To my knowledge, there are no aftermarket manufacturers of locking hub assemblies for a DRW truck. There may well be, I just haven't seen them.
You might give Spyntec a look and see if they make anything that will fit the truck. They do make manual systems for DRW. I have seen some for newer trucks but they run close to 2k when its all said and done. Might be cheaper just to stick with OEM.
Where are you at in Iowa? I have a set in my garage that has a broken snap ring we could try. I would think they would fit, just not stick out as far. The only difference is the spacer for the dually rim. they are both a dana 60 axle.
I have the Dynatrac conversion on mine and it came with the warn hub, but with the conversion, the hub is bigger than stock.
Another option would be to call Riffraff, he sells them and might know.
OEM has worked for a long time. I prefer the warn premium hubs because they are all steel and if they get hard to turn you can take them apart and clean / lube them up.
I found on another site last night a guy said he put them on his drw, he just had to bore out the adapter a few thousandths. Evidently the warns are just a bit larger than stock.
Don't know if I would mess with it or not. Maybe if I found a machine shop to do it.
