Is there sometimes a problem doing the front brakes?
I was talking to a mechanic I know about my '99 and we got to talking about certain problems of the Expedition.
One he said was a front end problem.I think he said ball joints or A-Frame.I don't remember.
The other problem is the rotor rusts and bonds to the hub or something. An expensive repair labor wise separating the rotor or buying rotors.
Anyone hear or experience either problem?

Usually, and I stress USUALLY, one can get by with one pad change before the rotors need turning. If you don't have warped rotors then you should be able to repace the pads in no time at all.

My shop recommended Wagner pads...head tech said they are the best. I put a set of the Wagner pads (~$65) on the front of my Expy and really like them. I'd also heard a bunch of people on these boards speak highly of the Carbon Metallics (~$50) so I put a set of those on the back. Everything works perfectly and the brake dust is much less than the stockers.

My son in law has a 2001 woth 41000 miles with one problem.
Really built well and solid.

I got the most expensive version O'Reilly Auto Parts had. $10 to $15 over three years is very affordable peace of mind, however, any version must meet a minimum requirement and probably surpasses oem standards.

I'm presently looking into Raybestos QS ceramic pads.Looking for opinions tho.
Jim,did you do the running board bulb change yet?
You were thinking about it.
No personal experience with the ceramic pads, although I followed a thread on them a while back and as I recall the views were mixed (most were positive though). Hence, I didn't consider them when I did my brakes.
Haven't done anything recently except change the coolant.....too damn hot around here.
