I don't know about the rest of yours, but my F-150 turns things off after a little bit. I have been working in the driveway, and turn on the radio to listen while I work (with the windows down). After 15-20 minutes or so, it shuts off the radio, so I have to "reset" it to keep it on.
My impression is that it has timers to turn things off, and so if one of those timers malfunctions, you might end up with an unexpected battery drain.

Yep. And that is when you hit the Start button w/o having your foot on the brake - right? That's the way mine works, so you shouldn't get anything powered w/o hitting Start, and even then it should shut off after some time.
