Thanks for posting the pictures. It does look amazing. The design appears to aligned the top of the canopy windows with the truck widows, so it looks nice and balanced. I found a dealer about an hour north of me that prices their Snugtops very competivitly with Leer and this helps push me in that direction.

You think Snugtop with the price premium in the market would figure out S&H. My last Snugtop was damaged twice during shipping. When it returned the second time (after the first repair) with more damage, I made them order me a new shell.

GlueGuy - They typically weigh a few hundred pounds. If I go this route, I'll scale my truck before and after to get a measurement. I had a Leer on my GMC with a 6.5' bed. A buddy and I lifted it off the truck once. It was not fun. They are heavy, but the worst part is there are no good places to lift and carry it, so the balance is all wrong. Both shops I've bought canopies from over the years use fork lifts for mounting. It's just too hard to get under them otherwise. If you get one, unless you have a fork lift I'd just plan to leave it on.

I'm guessing it is around 300lbs . It can be lifted off with 4 guys or as my Uncle did with a lift. He made a stand for both sides of the truck and would raise one end of the cap at a time . Once he had it up he set each end on a board that sets on the stands. He could do it by himself or with 2 people it was easier. The SnugTop 's have built in hidden bed clamps that make it easy to take off. I will probably leave mine on , but I think it would be simple enough to take off. I had a 1981 full size Bronco and I would take the fiberglass top off occasionally and it wasn't too bad.

I love the looks.
How do you wash the rear truck and the shell front windows?
And most importantly, is is completely waterproof?

I have been considering one but it takes a LOT of work to wash my truck now (Super Duty). I imagine that top would add considerable time (and more back pain) to a wash job, and I cannot stand to drive a dirty truck for very long.
I do not trust anyone else to wash it.

Actually I would trust my wife to wash it but somehow it always seems to be the other way around!

I've had Snugtops and Leers on previous trucks and both leaked somewhere. Some guys may have a perfect seal, but I think it's very hard to accomplish. I also think the plastic bed rail covers that Ford installs make it easy for water to flow up under them.

As for washing the back of the cab/front of the canopy, you need to buy the folding front window option on the canopy. This allows you to crawl into the bed of the truck, drop the front window and clean the truck. It's a PITA.

After due consideration and deliberation it seems as if my life is hectic enough without adding to it in the form of a truck shell. I have a couple of waterproof boxes into which I can put stuff and they are fairly easy to put in and take out.

I really do like the looks but I will go with function.

I finally got my SnugTop installed this weekend. It was sent back about a month ago due to a chip in the paint. Dealer was great and even loaned me a new ATC cap until my cap came in . They knocked an additional $100 off the total and installed a clear Stampede brand hood protector for my trouble.

Looks great. It's hard to tell online, but it looks like they did a great job with the color match.

I ordered my Snugtop a week ago. Should be here by the end of the month.

Yes its hard to tell in pictures ,but the match is real good. The white platinum is one of the harder colors to match. They also gave me a little bottle of touchup paint if I need it.

Good timing on this post. I just got mine back yesterday after a return trip to CA for warranty work. Not to happy with Snugtop right now. My paint started pealing around the roof rack tracks back in July. It looked like they installed the tracks before the paint cured. Took Snugtop two weeks to authorize the work, then a four-week repair turned into seven. I just spent 30 minutes scraping overspray off the side windows too. Not happy...but it looks good!

I have the SnugTop and it was perfect other than the dealer scratched it unloading it and it was sent back to be repainted. Other than that it was perfect.
