Air bag light

2007 F-150 reg cab 4x4
One thing after another..........................

Light in the middle of the dash says "passenger side airbag off".
Never used to be on?
Anyone got any ideas?

Only time mine ever says that is when something like my backpack or case of Coke or something is in the passenger seat. Could be a bad sensor in the seat. Really don't know.

I'll at least chime in. I also agree if I put something in my passenger seat of say 5-20 pounds mine will do the same thing. I would think the sensor is suspect.

lolol thanks guys your dead on I had a new quad battery in the box sitting there for 2 days.

It's a protection feature for when a child must be seated in the front passenger seat. If the weight sensor in the seat shows it to be below a certain range, it disables the passenger air bag which can be very dangerous to children or very small adults.

This is likely explained in your owner's manual.
