Checked the temps on the hoses,(143F) on both. Check hoses on radiator 107F. Seemed strange. Pretty sure I put a 195 stat in. One thing I'm suspicious about is that when I released the pressure on the rad cap I had none. Pretty sure that the stat has a bypass hole in it to keep from boiling over if it would stick. Need another day to check mixing door!
That little hole is to allow you to fill the system without burping.
There's no way it would pass enough coolant to cool the engine.
If you are only at 143* why would you expect to have pressure or for the 195* thermostat to open???
The heater loop is always independent of the thermostat, and there won't be pressure until coolant in the engine tries to boil..
This is the whole point of keeping the cooling system under pressure!
