Hello from southern Virginia. I have been a long time Ford and Mercury fan. I currently have an E 250 work van and a 65 Galaxie 500. I am looking at F 350 SD's right now and have not decided between a 6.7 or 6.2. Been doing a lot of reading on FTE on the issue. I have worked in Ford and GM collision shops in the past and had my own shop for 6 years. Changed career paths several years ago and work from home as a hobby now fabricating exhausts and all aspects of repair work. So thats what I have going on for right now.
Welcome from W of Martinsville. We have a 67 and 2 68 Galaxies.
Nice ! Another Galixie owner. I bought it at a local junk yard about 9 years ago. A true survivor. Reads 52,000. Had the original head lights, thermostat, and several other original parts. Still needs some love but it will get there some day. 289 2bbl with a C4, AM, full wheel covers. That sums up the options list. Very complex, lol.
Gonna bend up a nice dual exhaust for it as soon as the weather warms up a bit. Nothing loud, just a nice "note" to it.
Our 68 4 dr just got it insured and licensed. Put the plates on, got in, got out !@#$%^ rodents. Had to get new carpet, headliner, Still saving for upholstery.
Son's 67 , the 390 has a porous block (not cracked) Digging out another 390 to go in.
A guy stopped by the house in VA. He has 4 or 5 66's , trying to make 1 or 2 good ones.
Welcome from the other end of the state in Southwestern VA. Have a 55 F100, like the 66 Galaxie, and would like to have a 61 Ford Starliner like a black one we had at the time.

I have been looking at F 100's. Late 60's early 70's but really have too many projects going on.
Thanks for the welcome.
Sooo, Ordered an F 350, XLT, Crew Cab, 8' box, 4x4, with the 6.7 PSD today. 6-8 weeks is the estimate. I did ALOT of research on the 6.7, here, other forums, local guys that have them, and finally a 45 minute chat with the service director at the Ford Dealer we get our vehicles from. I was really leaning toward an XL, 6.2 for ease/cost of maintenance and initial cost.
Hope I made the right choice...
