Wondering if you guys can help me out? I have a 05 6.0l. Egr deleted. And my truck has a rough idle and power loss. Ive tested the ipr and the icp and they are reading at specs. I've also replaced the Hpop about 1500 miles ago. It has a real rough idle until it's at running temp. And it has power loss, I'll be driving down road and theres no where near has much power has there should be. And the idle will jump between 1500 rpm and 2000rpm. I'm trying to figure out what it is, can you guys help me out?
I was able to get my hands on a scanner and it has the code p2290, and cylinder fault balance codes.
Alright thanks I'll take another look at that fuel filter
P2290 is telling you that ICP desired is above ICP actual, for however long it is seeing it.
For starters, would not hurt to pull the IPR and check the screen if you have not already.
Did you do the HPOP? Did a shop or dealer? Not uncommon for an IPR to suffer the effects of debris as a result of an HPOP replacement and related parts removal that was not clean enough to eat off of before tear down....dirt ends up in places it does not belong, and guess what? Every drop of oil at some point will see that screen on the IPR.
I am a bit surprised you say new HPOP on a later build. Did the STC, dummy plugs and standpipes get replaced or checked at that time? Oil rail and injector upper seal?
HPOP RARELY goes bad on later builds.
Well I replaced the Hpop my self and before i did the Hpop my truck had absolutely no power and alot of times at idle it would just shut off and oil pressure was low and would take lon get to bhold oil presure. Replacing the hpop had a big effect but the truck still isn't a 100%. When I did the Hpop I replaced the ipr screen. And I was really wanting to do the stand rails and dummy plugs while I was in there but the bank account said otherwise. I would have to get a scanner that reads live data so I can look at the ipr and icp
You need a Scanguage or something to read data..........LIVE.
You replaced the HPOP so you must know how to do the air test since you diagnosed the HPOP......do the air test again and see what it tells you. Yes, it's possible the IPR screen is plugged with debris. Did you lick the top of the engine clean before you took it apart?
Also, is the STC the updated version?
I won't be able to get my hands on a scan gauge till next weekend. Alright I'll go ahead and do the test again and pull the ipr to check up on the screen, I cleaned it the best I could, used compressed air and brake cleaner.yes when I bought the hpop it came with the updated stc and updated ipr screen
