here is my 68 i picked up 3 weeks ago, had one in college and liked it, however one 68 must not been good enough so i found this one, could this be an illness? note pic #2 my second one is the ranger package, all chrome pieces are in the front seat
The truck in the 2nd picture is a '69 or, at least the grille on it's from a '69. The headlight bezels were either replaced or stripped clean since a '69 Ranger grille would have had 'coon eyes' (black paint on the head light bezels) like this and a red stripe in the indention of the middle rung running across the '69 Ranger grille ('68 grilles didn't have the indention across the middle rung).
3 on the tree, 360 cid, 8-cyl., rear end gear really low, 55 seems pretty high rpms
auto tranny on other, 360 cid, 8-cyl., haven't driven the other one yet, it's still in georgia at my brothers, he picked it up for me and is getting shipped saturday
your truck looks awesome, what level of restoration is that? sure looks good
Thanks but, my truck isn't restored and is a long way from it. My truck is a '69 F100 short bed Ranger, Norway Green with black interior. I bought it April 24, 2011. It came with a 240 L6, C-4 automatic and a 9-inch rear end with 28-spline single track differential with 3.50 gears.
I've added power steering, front discs, power brakes, 31-spline axles with a Ford Daytona N-case 9-inch 3rd member with a 4-pinion 31-spline Traction-Lok differential (also with 3.50 gears), transmission oil cooler, tilt steering, intermittent wipers, front and rear sway bars, '92-'96 Ford F150 wheels, 7 blade clutch fan, cargo/3rd brake light mod and a Ford 3G 130 amp alternator.
As it looked not long after I bought the truck.
In more recent times.
Took the big 'papaw' side mirrors off.
I've made a number of improvements on the truck but still have a good ways to go on it.
