Yeah turns out I broke down nearby my buddy's metal works shop. I limped it there and he told me I could by-pass it. He told me to take off the hose that would be the easiest to re-install on the engine side (which is the one that connects to the upper part of the engine). The one that connects to the lower part of the motor which is hard to reach. We let it be and just did a U-turn with it and connected that to the upper part.

Then the free hose was just tied in a knot. Now he said I can be lazy and work on it one hex nut at a time. I re-filled it with water. I have to watch that and start chasing with full concentrate anti-freeze then fill the dual resevoir with a combination and I think I will have just about got away.
