Question hard brake lines

hello,i would like to replace the hard brake lines on my 2003 expedition with the copper/nic lines so they will not rust,my question is there is a flex hose in the middle of the factory lines, what can do I do about those, can I just leave them out.The lines go from the master cylinder to the abs unit and it looks like they will never flex or bend anyway.can somebody please offer some help?thanks

If you watch the master while someone pushes very hard on the brake pedal you will see the master move forward due to firewall flex. The lines out of the master need to have some flexibility. Unlike the typical hard lines on the truck, Ford usually keeps the braided lines available. But the other alternative is to coil replacement hard lines two turns like a pigs tail so there is flexibility in them. This is how they used to be designed before the adaptation of the braided splices.
