What are the pros and cons of brushing on epoxy over welds prior to long stranded water proof fillers, all metal, duraglass, ect? Im thinking it would be easier and quicker than getting out the spray gun to do this on bare metal over welds only.
I've used POR-15 on such things, always used a brush or new roller sleeve--seems to work just fine.
With a properly cleaned and de-greased pre-treatment that might work just as well as any other application method. If you have a clear view of areas to be treated a brush should cover everything very well.
Im a big fan of SPI Epoxy but I think the roller might work well. I still may just wait until I have enough metal work done to spray a bigger area with epoxy. It going much faster than I anticipated and its in a heated shop. I did not realize you can use POR 15 and do filler over the top of it? Have you tried that?

I've not but there's (so far) never been a reason to do so. POR-15 does make a filler too but not sure its any better than any other good grade---I'm sure pound-for-pound its more expensive.
For the most part POR-15 is very much like epoxy except its single component and mostly air dried or cured. I can fully attest to its adhesion to most any clean oil-free metal surface---even concrete. Once fully cured it cannot be chipped or lifted off---has to be abraded away.
