Yes, i'm considering a tune but will need to talk to Ed about it.
I took the FICM out so i could get to the #6 injector for a resistance check. Those are some tiny little pins to get to. I think i need some jumpers.
What I also found is that all the FICM connectors clips were all broken except for one side of the first connector. While i was working on getting the first connector off, the middle just fell out. The rear followed. Looks like the guy who r/r'd my oil cooler broke them cuz i dont think anything was ever done to this truck before.
Now i'm wondering if one of the FICM connectors partially fell out and caused my P0276
Took the FICM out to get at #6 injector pins for ohm test.
Found all the clips on the FICM connectors broken except for one side of the first connector - not real happy about that. While trying to get the first connector out the middle one just fell out. The rear followed. I dont think this FICM was ever out until i had the Oil Cooler R/R few weeks ago.
I'll have to talk to Ed about a tune. Not sure on that yet.
Update: the pins are not that tiny, the mirror i was using just made them look small. I was able to get the volt meter probes in there to make the resistance checks which checked good......
Step 4: Unplug injector associated with code, and visually inspect pins for corrosion. Measure the resistance between the suspect fuel injector pins, component side as follows:
Pins 1 and 2: 0.2-3.0 ohms
Pins 3 and 4: 0.2-3.0 ohms
Pins 1 and 3: >10,000 ohms
Pins 1 and 4: >10,000 ohms
Pins 2 and 3: >10,000 ohms
Pins 2 and 4: >10,000 ohms
Talked to Ed. He said if one of the connectors fell part way out, this would not set the single P0276 code. He was pretty certain the logic side of the FICM was not working correctly (single P0276 - Low Circ injector #6) and of course the 42.3v FICM test with engine on.
After talking with Ed about the FICM connector clips issue, I think i'll be zip tying the Connectors up, ahhhhggg.
Resistance check on # 6 injecter OK.
Put everything back together. Took for ride, still running normal.
Ordered FICM from Ed with the Atlas 40 tune. I'll post back with results after new FICM installed (probably next weekend).
P. S. sorry about the double post above. The first one didn't show up until after i posted the 2nd. Whatever.

Thanks for the time on the phone and the business! To be clear, the basis for the comment that possibly a logic board issue exists is that the truck was running awesome when the code was set. Had the plug not being seated been the basis for the code being set, the engine would have been missing as well most times.

Roger that, Ed. Looking forward to my new FICM with the atlas tune
Just food for thought, but I have to load test batteries on a daily basis for work. These are much smaller than what our trucks have but I would assume the effects are the same. When load testing a bad battery, it's common that the voltage tests ok, but the issue shows itself when switching to amperage.
On Sunday, decided to drive the truck short jaunt to church. Got to the end of my street and pulled 3 codes: P0276(original), P0282, and P0611. Was also hearing a slight, occasional miss at idle. Turned around and parked it. Dang, these FICMS are ficle.
Hopefully I'll have the replacement by tomorrow.

FICM arrived. Sure glad you shipped on Saturday
Wont be able to install until later today.
Got her installed. I hated using zip ties for the broken connector clips but oh well. I got the heavy duty 24 inchers seemed to do the trick.
Why could they not have put the FICM connectors on the top. I felt like a blind man lookin for a nickel under the washing machine.
Any way, fired right up and idled smooth for 10 minutes then went on 30 minute ride and wow. The response from a dead start is fantastic and the all around response and performance is great. When I first got this truck I hadn't driven my wife's car for weeks and when i did i was so used to pushing the pedal down 2 inches before any thing would happen, I nearly broke loose in the driveway. That's what made me realize how the truck was responding.
Not any more.
So glad I spent the extra clams on the Atlas 40 tune.
So far, no returning codes. I'm actually looking forward to driving to work tomorrow.
