They were on for about 5yrs before I got the truck, so who knows. All I know is it made a mess of the paint and drives me nuts seeing it.

That is good information. I have often considered the true value of the vinyl that comes with the guards. You have probably saved me from making a mistake.

In this picture if you zoom in you can see the outline of the old flap, it chewed up the paint big time on all 4.

I noticed that the Huskies include a paint protection film like this. The Duraflaps don't appear to come with it. Or at least it's not listed in the contents.

Love the look of these flaps. I'm running a 4'' lift on 35's so thinking about the long set. Also thinking about the "lifted truck version, but man they are expensive.

"drilling required".. The duraflaps have a few types that require drilling, and the huskies require drilling too. Do they mean JUST drilling through the flap, or drilling into your truck too??

My Duraflaps did not require drilling, but if it is stated then they mean in the truck.

The FRONT duraflaps say Drill-less. But the rear Duraflaps only come in pre-drilled, or drilling required. So the pre-drilled REAR duraflaps, didn't require drilling into the truck either?

A little drill hole isn't a big deal, but I'll probably avoid it if possible.

There was no drilling at all on my set. The only thing I did, which I think makes it better is get my own set of fender washers so the washers are larger. The washers they send with the kit are too small IMO and risk the chance of damaging the flap eventually. The only real negative in my mind but was an easy fix from the hardware store.

Ok, thanks, I'll prob do the same then. I'm leaning toward the duraflaps again.

So, they don't come with that protective strip, because they don't touch that outer area(in your pics) anyway? ..I get it.

What about the little folded-in lip, inside the well? Does anyone put anything over that before putting the flaps on?

I guess maybe you could protect that spot, but mine was already chewed up from the old flaps. I just give a good spray behing my flaps when I wash the truck to clear out anything that might get in behind.

I always put mud flaps on my vehicles. I have duraflaps on my F250. These flaps are the best I've ever owned.

The rear required no drilling at all -

The front required one hole drilled in the lip -

OEM ones that have a lip destroys your paint. Even street trucks throw up rocks/sand and it hets trapped betwee the flap lip and body and it just rubs the paint clear off. I ordered them overpriced duraflaps....yea they are ok for a street truck, first time oit hunting and sunking in a corn field during goose season the front flaps were nearly dragging and instead of bending like rubber flaps the plastic duraflap bent ever so slightly then started to pull on the front fender and thankfully it ripped away from the upper screw holding it on and then fell onto the tire where i heard it going thud thud thud as the tires were spinning. They now sit in the garage shelf and i have a nice set of heavy duty rubber flpas with Ford logo on my teuck that i got a Walmart for ten bucks a set. Work just as good as them 100 dollar duratrash's
