Anyone in the know regarding the correct ECm to buy for my sons' 1990 E150 302? Or do you get the right number off the computer when you pull it?
I have never been able to get his truck to run/ shift smoothly, so I'm going to go with a new computer. As I've posted in the past he has all new ignition components and no codes, just like another post I read on here.
Ebay shows a couple different suppliers and #'s for the 1990 5.0 standard cargo.
Thanks for any help. Or suggestions where to buy.
He still loves his old shorty so I keep working on it.
I reconditioned the computer with capacitors from the 'net'. I actually was surprised I got it back together and working. It is shifting a bit smoother, but I feel a miss. My son is jumping on the road tonite to Washington with balding tires, a rough running truck (in my opinion), and an incomplete registration due to not getting a smog check.
I suspect it is the last time we'll see the van because I am not paying for a long distance tow from two states away. The folly of youth.
Edit; oh yeah, the brake warning light keeps coming on.
