2010 Lariat heater switch problem
My wife's 2010 Lariat, has a problem with the heater switch.
Its stuck in one speed.
Also the rear defogger switch doesn't light up. We don't know if the switch to it is just bad, OR if the whole system is bad.
Was also wondering if the blend door would be bad??
Anyone have a thought on this??
Thanx

My 2012 Lariat rear defrost light would not light up (or work as a defroster) because the sliding rear window would not be recognized as being fully closed. The solution was to replace the entire rear window. Seems like this is not a rare situation, but I dont know if it applies to a 2010 Lariat (assuming you have a sliding rear window).

Wife said the defrost switch came back on yesterday. I told her to tell them it is intermittent.
She is taking the truck in today, and set up an appointment, and get "their diagnosis, on the problems".
They told her the other day to just, "Drop it off, and we'll get to it in a couple of days". (I'd love to be there if they suggest that to her again).
There's another stealership close, if they give her any crap, that is where she will go !!
Stay tuned !!!

....!!!
Mine was intermittent, too. The sliding rear window contacts seem the be the culprit -
sometimes the sliding panel is considered fully closed=let defroster work
vs
its not considered closed=wont let defrost work.
At least in my case.

O.K.The part that they replaced, was part # YH1829. It was a resistor.
I wasn't there, so I have no idea where it was, BUT wife says all is good.
The rear defroster now works.
We still have NO IDEA if there is a problem or not with the defroster. They said, that the thing was tested, and working fine.
Time will tell!!The part cost $79.38
Thanx, for all input. Hope this helps somewhere down the line.
