headlight switch question
headlight switch question
So over the weekend I was messing around with the dash wiring. One of the issues I ran into was when the headlight switch was pulled out to the first position the low beam headlights and the running lights came on. I thought only the running lights should come on. Pushing the high beam switch on the floor did nothing. If I pulled the switch out to the second position the front running lights go out, the headlights work in both low and high beam. My conclusion was the headlight switch must be bad. The new one arrived today and when I installed it the lights worked the same way. Is the how the lights were supposed to work or do I have some custom wiring somewhere downstream from the switch?
The first click on headlight switch is for the running lights. When light switch is pulled all the way the running lights go out and the headlights come on.
If you changed out the switch and your still having issues, make sure all your grounds are good, including the ground by the horn relay at core support.

Larry, something has left the room. As noted, 1st pull turns on tails and front lights at turn signal, 2nd pull keeps tails, drops front lights, and turns on headlights.
