Headlight switch - headlights parking lights question.

I do not post much becuase i can usually search and find what i am looking for. But, i am not having much luck with this question.

I just finished wiring up my headlights, front parking lights, dash, etc. I believe everything is working as designed.

Question regarding the headlight switch -
Switch all the way in = no lights
Switch pulled out in the middle postion = parking lights but no headlights
Switch pulled all the way out = no parking lights but headlights.

I think this is correct but i just wanted to make sure. Additionally, I think i would like my parking lights (in front) on when my headlights are on (if the above scenario is correct. I was just wondering if others have done this (wanted the parking lights on with the headlights). If so do you just disconnect your parking lights from there terminal on the head light switch and connect them to the headight terminal. Then my headlight switch would only work when it is pulled all the way out (but both the headlights and parking lights would be on at the same time.

Is this correct??? Or have others accomplished this a differant way?

Thanks in advance

Rich

hi

that is the stock way it works
you could hook up the running lights to the DASH/TAILLight side of
the switch that is on in both location of the headlight switch
hope this helps

I agree with 48ATOY. On my truck when I turn on the head lights, the parking lights stay on. Good luck.

I know my parking lights stay on with the switch all the way out and headlights on. I would check the back taillights on your truck to see if the parking lights come on with the headlights on. The back taillights parking lights need to be on. The front is optional like these guys mentioned above. I personally like them on.
