i have a 95 F-150 shortbed with a 302 V8 in it. about 4 months ago i got straight pipes but it sounded like crap because they gave me 2 inch pipes. Now actually this monday they are putting on 2.5 inch pipes with a Flowmaster original 40 series taking off my rear catylitic converter and putting on 5 inch angle cut tips. Does this sound like a good setup and will this sound loud?????? please i'd really like to get it right this time and would like to know how it will sound in the cab and on the outside. replies would be very much appreciated.
any suggestions to make this louder? hollowing my front cat or getting better headers? Thanks

Just a tid-bit of info...
The longer the exhaust, the quieter and "Clappy" bus sound.
The shorter exhaust, the louder, subdued sound. Either have turndown pipes before the axle, or have the exhaust exit to the sides in front of the tires. It doesn't matter what size pipes for sound, it does matter for performance. Too large and performance and fuel mileage suffers. Not enough back-pressure. I do think the 2.5" system, will be good for the set-up you want.
