Non Ford

It's like a bad song, can't get it out of my brain since I first saw it 7-8 years ago. I could just see this on a Dodge cummins dually frame with a 54-55 conventional front sheet metal. The only reason I haven't bought it is because I can't figure out how to get it home easy, it's missing a front hub. It's at the same place I got the last 2 and there is also a 64ish Ford ton and a half Naapco. Too many cool trucks, not enough money or years left, sigh

How much would it sell for?
I would put some military axles on it and make it 4x4

Oh, I can buy it pretty cheap. It is actually kind of a rare truck with that sleeper built on. Pretty sure those are Ford coupe side windows.

Does that Cummins have the iron lung on it (supercharger)? Could you post pictures of the Napco?

It's been a long time since I looked at the engine but I don't remember a supercharger. Don't have pictures of the Naapco, sorry. I'll try to remember to get some when I get back out there. Weather and ground conditions permitting, I want to get the COE wrecker out of there this week.

Very cool and rare old Cornbinder; they didn't make many of them. Believe I've seen
only one other with the quarter windows. (You're right, they do look like early Ford)
If it's a diesel, could also be a Detroit 2 cycle.
Would certainly make a neat hauler conversion...

That looks like an awful lot of transmission. What am I looking at?

I'm not sure but it appears to be a married twin box, possibly air shift on the rear one. Front half looks like a 5 speed. I used to work on some old Mack dump trucks that had a quadraplex, basically two four speeds in one case for 16 speeds.

I should know exactly which early cummins truck diesel that is.... Last night I finally finished 'The Diesel Oddessy of Clessie Cummins'. Written by his son Lyle it was spellbinding. Well actually it put me to sleep a few nights as well. A cummins diesel powered race car came in 8th at the Indianapolis 500 I think in 1931. They entered the 500 for 3 years. Did a lot of cross country endurance runs on stove oil for like 11.33 for the total cost of the fuel. If that's a cummins I will guess it's an H.

According to this, probably a 10 speed.
