Wheel Question

I'm fairly new to 60's Fords so I wasn't really sure what innie and outie wheels were. A few weeks ago I was taking a wheel off my 66' F250 4x4 and the wheel was staring me in the face and I realized, Oh, that's a innie.
I have a 65' F100 that I am robbing parts off of and I decided to see what wheels it had. 3 of the wheels are just run of the mill 16" outie modern looking wheels. But the forth looks like a innie without the tabs around the ID. It's also not a lock ring wheel like my 250 wheels are. It is 16", 5 lug wheel. So is it a innie? Did it use special hub caps and didn't need the tabs? Is it right for a 65' ?

Thanks

Definitely not what is called an innie. Also, I'm not aware of innies being used for 16" applications.

The earlier trucks, post war through the '50s, all had 16" x 4.5" innies as the standard wheel. Ford number 8C 1015 / K-H 31283. Stu

Here's my F250 16" lock ring wheels. My 66' has 4 of them.
Truckdog, would these be correct for a 1966 F250?

The wheel pictured is Ford 8J 1007 / Budd 60880-1. If I'm correct Bill will tell us the Ford number changed to B7TZ 1007-A. It is a 16" x 5.5" semi-drop center two piece wheel having a Firestone RHP outer rim. It was an optional wheel in 1966. Also optional was a one piece drop center 16" x 6", early number 7RD 1015B / later B9TZ 1015A. Early K-H 31282 / later K-H 43552. Bill may have a better reference, but my K-H references don't say when the change occurred from innie to outie, although I ***-u-me it correlates to the number changes.

As a rule the two part semi-drop center wheels were a heavier duty option. That despite the fact of being the 1/2" narrower than the one piece version. Stu

That's why my first picture of the Jeep wheel through me off. The contour of the wheel looked like my innies, but no tabs.
