I just found this site and it is awesome, I have done some searches on the 45-55mph vibration that is felt through the floorboard. Well, I have it now and am going to try to find it. I guess I will start at lubing the splines in the rear drive shaft, any suggestions on the best way to do this? I guess I should ck the carrier bearing....What am I looking for?...Then I guess I should ck the big nut on the rear diff??? I appreciate the advice, This just started on a recent trip and it is driving me crazy. thanks.
If it just started then it's probably the slip joint. The carrier bearing is another good place to look but unless it's a lifted truck that's less likely.
Thanks for the info, I actually just put on a new set of bfg's thinking that might be the problem...so I was thinking tire weight also, lubed the rear spline today..see what happens on the way to work tommarow.
Well I guess I need to keep searching for the vibration I am getting, lubing the splines took care of a little play I had putting it into gear, but it still feels like I am driving on rumble stips at 50mph..
I bought mine at the end of June and it does it also at about 48mph. Had it in for front end alignment and mentioned for them to check it out. The service said the man couldn't find any vibration and that he was the best around. I said "he doesn't drive it every day". It is still there and does it every time I get to that speed. I guess I need to take it to another dealer and let someone not so good (like me) drive it.
Yep I know what you are talking about, Right front bearing is trashed, jacked it up and tire and wheel dropped, just had it replaced this last week at the tune of $400. I would offer advise to anyone that has larger, wider tires on their truck to jack it up and check the wheel bearings every other oil change, at least. This is very common after doing some research.
