Exclamation Popping front end

The list of things i have replaced/done:
  • All ball joints
  • radius arm bushings
  • Pro aligned
  • lug nuts
Before I replaced these parts, the front end would pop/bind once in awhile. However, now it pops every time i brake, turn , and accelerate. At the moment I have no idea what it could be. Where should I start looking at?

Thanks in advance

Also fyi, the steering box is extremely lose, but I doubt that might be contributing to the noise.

You might be suffering from rivet popping, either the engine cross member or the transmission cross member.
You sound confident its emanating from the front of the truck so I'd check this out,

Posting the specifics of your truck might prove beneficial too. Such as model and year, engine and trans combination 2 or 4 wheel etc etc.

Wouldn't the vibrations of rivet pooping resonate throughout the frame?

Check the bolts on the bottom of the shocks and also the ends of the radius arms, if there is any play in the radius arms they will make noise when stopping sharply.

Yea I see it in your second post. I replied to your first post your second one didn't exist then.
Took me a few minutes to find the linked to page I wanted, you must have posted it while I was searching.

Odd I your sig isn't included in your first post.

I just replaced both front rotors, wheel bearings, and seals. I hypothesized that the bearings were possibly worn and the rotors were either cracked or warped.
Some of the symptoms were:

  • The old wheel bearings were shot and were coming apart. The grease was black with metal shaving and dust.
  • Every time I would press on the brakes while I was at a complete stop, the rotors would creak-and-pop. Also every time I made a sharp turn regardless of the speed.
  • The front end would pop/bind when I would turn the wheel full lock-to-lock.
I didn't see any cracks on the rotors, but there might be. I took it for a quick spin and some HARD turns while making the tires sing haha I didn't hear the noise again.

Out with the old, in with the new. Some cheap rotors from O'Rielly.
