Super Duty: Engine Types
#16
Several questions asked about Super Duty engine types for the new chassis cabs were entirely ignored earlier.
Now that Ford has announced (on March 11 at a commercial truck show) the HP and TQ numbers for the 2017 model year 6.7L Powerstroke (330 HP / 750 TQ) in F-450/550 chassis cabs, can answers to any of the previously ignored questions be offered at this point?

Ford's Engineers aren't going to recommend anything aftermarket, for a lot of reasons.
I won't recommend anything for one simple reason. Any money you spend on that stuff will NEVER be recovered in fuel savings over the normal lifetime of your vehicle. The best method of gaining fuel economy is by altering your driving habits.

Don't put a lift on it with huge tires and baby it. I don't think a chip will give you better mileage just better performance.

I need directions, 2006 F250 super Duty with 6.0 Diesel engine, Transmission just went out, coming home from stop sign would not shift right Tow light came on (Blessed I was only a few blocks from the house) finally got it to Ford motors, they said transmission is full of shavings and had to be replaced, I can't afford $5,200.00. I need a 5 speed, 5R110w, High Tork Transmission, anyone know where I may can find one cheaper or have a better suggestion?

Why hasn't Ford put a coolant filter on the new superduties 6.7l to ensure proper coolant PH etc and engine reliability. I mean if the larger trucks use them why not on a Ford.

Engineer's Response
Hi nogo73, our engineer had this to say:
There is no specific need for a coolant system filter on the 6.7L, nor is there one designed into the coolant system for 2017.
Thanks for the question.

Thanks to everyone, I took truck to a place in Tulsa and had the transmission rebuilt, so so good and for less than 1/2 the price Ford wanted. Just have to Praise the Lord for helping me find this guy, he has a lot of satisfied customers
