Up pipe leak question

Still have stock uppipes. I see no evidence of s leak anywhere on them. No soot on firewall. Am I looking in wrong place. Does anybody have pics of a leaking up pipe? Thanks. My truck is a dog. No longer run dp tuner since I can't get rid of p1250 code. I have a diesel site boost leak detector but not sure if it will work with bad up pipes. Thanks

Common place is where the collector connects to the down pipes, also check your exhaust manifolds for leaks. And as for the leak detector no it wont work.
You can probably rig something and apply air thru the exhaust. Someone has to confirm this thou.

Thanks for the quick reply. Will look there. Not bad idea with leak detector on tail pipe. I run 5 inch system.

Here's my barely leaking up pipe. This pic was taken from standing at the drivers fender well looking down and back towards the firewall behind the turbo.

I'm still pushing low to mid 20's for boost though so it hasn't caused me any problems yet.

Well I'd start with a fpr problem first, you can always shim it but I'd check your pressure first if you can borrow a gauge from someone, then if you fix it there move to the up pipes, if you shim it and it still runs ****ty take the bb out and replace the pump. But before you replace anything get your fuel pressure checked so your not wasting time and money

If you want to keep your stock up pipes I have some Brass gaskets from Beans Diesel for the stock up pipes that I don't have use for anymore would make you a good deal on them if you need them.

Thanks for the offer Derek. But my ups are rusted to hell. I will look into fuel pressure gauge

I though the stock up pipes are stainless steel

Its almost easier to look from the bottom of the truck for leaks. I know half of mine could not be seen till I went and looked from there. Right there behind the turbo sure enough. I also had one in the turbo center section and the exhaust impeller housing. All I would have never seen from the front of the truck and only saw the one from under hood.
